We are here to address any questions or concerns you may have, and we strive to provide a welcoming environment. Our office is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology to meet all your eye care needs. Below, you will find a list of the advanced machines available in our facility.
- Optos Wide-Field Fundus Photography: This is a very unique camera that takes wide-field photos of your retina, which is the back part of your eye. What’s unique about this camera is that it can capture detailed images in one shot and without needing
to dilate your pupils; making the process quick and comfortable for you. These detailed images include angiography (imaging of your blood vessels) and autofluorescence (color-coded images). This aids Dr. Patel in monitoring any changes in your eye health and
understanding your condition better. - Aladdin Biometry Machine: The machine allows our staff to gather pre-surgery measurements for Dr. Patel’s surgery. These measurements include axial length, corneal thickness, anterior chamber depth, lens thickness, and keratometry data. Proper measurements
are important so Dr. Patel can ensure your surgery goes as smoothly as possible with little to no complications. - Topcon Autorefraction Machine: This machine allows our staff to gather measurements to allow Dr. Patel to give you an accurate prescription for glasses. When you come in for your eye exam, you’ll simply look into the machine and focus on a picture of
a house. The autorefraction machine uses advanced optics to automatically assess how your eyes focus light. The process is fast, comfortable, and requires no effort on your part! - Virtual Field: This device allows Dr. Patel to assess your peripheral vision—an essential part of your overall eye health. During the Virtual Field test, you’ll sit comfortably in front of a screen while looking straight ahead. You’ll be asked to indicate
when you see lights or objects in your peripheral vision. This not only helps Dr. Patel to detect conditions like glaucoma early on but also allows her to monitor any changes over time, ensuring your vision remains as healthy as possible. - Topcon Computerized Lensometer: When you bring in your existing glasses, the lensometer scans them to determine the exact prescription. Dr. Patel can then use these measurements to adjust the prescription for optimal vision correction.
- OCT Imaging System: This machine provides us with incredibly detailed images of the structures inside your eye. This non-invasive test allows us to see layers of your retina and optic nerve with precision, which can help Dr. Patel determine any nerve thinning or signs of glaucoma.
- iCare: This machine measures your eye pressure quickly and comfortably. Eye pressure is an important indicator of your eye health, and regular checks can help us monitor for conditions like glaucoma.
- Phoropter: This machine helps us determine your exact prescription for glasses or contact lenses, ensuring you achieve the clearest vision possible. When you sit behind the phoropter, you’ll look through a series of lenses that Dr. Patel can easily switch
through to test how different lenses affect your vision. It’s a simple process, but it’s incredibly effective in fine-tuning your prescription. - Slit Lamp: Think of the slit lamp as a powerful microscope specifically designed for your eyes. It combines a bright light with magnification, allowing Dr. Patel to see every detail of your eye, from the surface to deeper structures. During your exam,
you’ll sit comfortably with your chin resting on a support while she will shine a gentle beam of light into your eyes. It’s quick and completely painless!
